PICNIK IS CLOSING ON APRIL 19TH!!!!!! And moving some of its features to google+. That is the bad news, now for the good news! :) Because Picnik is closing they have made all of their premium features FREE from now until April 19th! :) I really can't believe Picnik is closing but its true. I will have to find a new editing program! :P Which is one thing I am not looking forward to! So if you have any recommendations I would much appreciate it! ;)

Muffins

Last week I made these Blueberry Streusel Muffins from the Betty Crocker cookbook. I made slight alterations to the recipe. I have never made blueberry muffins before, so this was my first! :)

Muffins:
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
2 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup fresh, canned (drained) or frozen blueberries

Streusel Topping:
1/4
cup Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
1/4
cup packed brown sugar
1/4
teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons cold butter or margarine

Preparation:
Heat oven to 400°F. Line 12 regular-size muffin cups with paper baking cups, or spray bottoms only of cups with cooking spray. In medium bowl, stir 1/4 cup flour, the brown sugar and cinnamon until mixed. Cut in butter, using pastry blender or fork, until mixture is crumbly; set aside.
In large bowl, beat milk, oil and egg with fork or wire whisk until blended. Add 2 cups flour, the granulated sugar, baking powder and salt all at once; stir just until flour is moistened (batter will be lumpy). Gently stir in blueberries. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups. Sprinkle each with about 1 tablespoon streusel. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. If muffins were baked in paper baking cups, immediately remove from pan to cooling rack. If muffins were baked in sprayed pan, leave in pan about 5 minutes, then remove from pan to cooling rack. Serve warm or cooled.

Until Next Time,
Lexie

Sketchbook Redo

Hey! :) Yesterday, I was looking for something to do and I saw my old sketchbook. The front cover was ripped off and the binding was messed up so pages would fall out! :( So, I decided to give it a new look! :)  Here is a picture before I redid it.

I covered the front binding with duct tape, and added scrapbook pages. Here is a picture of my supplies.

Here it is with the duct tape on the binding and the scrapbook stuff.

Then I put ribbon over top of the duct tape binding, added some string, mini clothespin, mini bows, and masking tape lettering. So here is one final product close-up pic! :)

Well, I will post again soon! :)

3-day Weekend :)

I am so happy we have a three day weekend! :)
Because Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. day, we get the day off for observation.
I am so excited to try out my new camera with my tripod! :)
Maybe I will get some time to put it to good use this weekend...
This rose is from our front yard! :) We have red roses, pink roses, and orange roses! :)
They add great effects to pictures. Once I took a picture of somebody laying on rose petals; it looked simply magical! :)

Eyeshadow Photography

Who knew Eyeshadow could be photography?!! I really like this picture. I took it a few weeks ago and never knew its potential! :)

Christmas: Gingerbread House

My grandma, my sisters, and I made a gingerbread house! Being with family is half the fun! :) We bought a kit from the store then we were building, decorating, watching the (frosting) snow fall, adding extra little details... To add a little texture to the (frosting) snow we sprinkled powdered sugar along it when it was still soft. I think it was an accomplishment! :)

Random Barn

The other day we went for a drive and we spotted this barn. I never thought vines could look so beautiful! :)
